Setup was painless, especially the nice notice that XML-RPC was disabled on my blog which made it very easy to fix and connect up. So far only issue is getting geotagging / location information, the BlackBerry GPS is of course not so great indoors..

So, this is my first post from the BlackBerry!

The purpose of danejeffrey.com is for me to have a single place to post information, photos, links, applications, scripts, etc that will hopefully be of use to me in the future and hopefully be of use to other people. At the moment, I’m designing the site and working out how and where everything will go.

I like the idea of web applications, so the blog component (which will be mainly used like my own personal knowledgebase) will be Wordpress. The image gallery component at this stage is Gallery2, which has a nice plugin for Wordpress. Not sure if the image gallery will stay as I really just want something simple for that.

Anyway, hopefully this will all come together nicely and I won’t get bored of it or decide it’s too much work after a few weeks. Until next time…
